Restaurant Hang Li Po Chicken Rice

Alreet guys, when I started this blog I said to myself stay away from food blogging but if you ask my other half, she would say that I am annoyingly critical about everything I eat. She was really careful taking me out for dinner when we first started going out because I’d just complain about almost everything! (..and still am. Thanks babe for listening you’re star!)

I am a fussy eater, always has been since I was a kid. When I get a little older, I believe that the ambiance of the restaurant is as important as the presentation of the food and as the taste of the food itself so I think I owe myself a favour to write a little about these places.

Last night, I had a pleasure to dine at a restaurant called Selera Hang Li Po in Seremban near Senawang Specialist Hospital. The best way to get to this fine affordable restaurant is to take the Senawang/Seremban Exit on North-South Expressway (E2) and head on to almost the end of the road (carriageway 97) after you reach the toll plaza (towards Jalan Kuala Pilah). It’s a fair bit of a distance from the plaza but I assure you it’s worth the effort.

The ambiance in my opinion, is fantastic. Quiet. Clean. Classy. Cozy. Airy. Non-smoking. Thus the place is great if you plan to fill your lovely evening with decent food and conversations.

Nasi Ayam

The menu is simple; Nasi Ayam, Mee Soto, Mee Kari and Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah as well as your standard western menu (chicken/lamb chops and steaks). My other half went for Mee Soto and I went for Nasi Ayam. Both are set meals so they came with drinks, fresh fruits and jelly. If you want to be comical to your other half then I suggest you go for ice blended sour sop. It costs you an extra ringgit but good fun guaranteed! The portions served are fantastic and of great values.

Restaurant Hang Li Po
The restaurant opens from 11 am to 11 pm, Monday to Sunday and oh, if you want to shop for a fine quality sofa set, there’s a shop next door to it owned by the same lady!

Happy Eating!

“Awak, awakkan selalu kita yang kene”,

said the young lass, as he sat down on a wooden chair with a piece of clean serviette in his right hand. The young chump must have been in his late teens, perhaps not even at uni judging from his pierced left ear and rusty hairstyle. No local Dean in a right mind would allow such accessories to Uni. Not in Malaysia I don’t think.

He adjusted his ‘manbag‘ to his side. I’m not well versed in fashion so I couldn’t tell you whether it were branded nor expansive but I’m sure he thinks he looks manly wearing it. awak.. awak

She stood up and slipped her hand into her unbranded purse. Her right hand emerged with a fiver note. She glanced at me, rather embarrassed or perhaps a sense of hopelessness in her facade and head away to the cashier till.

I wonder what kind of walk is that? Happy walk? Proud walk?

Me?

My other half just got here to join me for dinner and movie.

I paid for my meal and the movie and I don’t have a ‘manbag‘.

I have my happy and proud-to-be-a-real-man walk.
